ACTIVITY-1 (perception)
INTRODUCTION
As our activity started we were given a 15 min introduction about hole activity .
We were told about how to perceive things in a unique way
How to make connection with shapes and object.
WARM UP
This activity was demo of the main activity.
For this activity we dividing into a group of 5 students . we were discuss about shape which given to us .
How to represent it geometrically and to associate it with different objects.
EXAMPLE-
MAIN ACTIVITY
This was longer activity. we were still divided into a group.
We again were given a shape it this shape was totally different.
shape given to us was a common letter k but in the main activity we were asked to associate it with different things
GEOMETRICAL REPRESENTATION
WE FOUND 6 GEOMETRICAL REPRESENTATION OF THE OBJECT
SHARING
After discussing in group we all joined back into general discussion.
Here we told about our thoughts and work. We were given the best possible feedback from faculty and our peers.
After discussing in group we all joined back into general discussion.
Later in general discussion we told about the advantages of working in a group.
ACHIVEMENT
1. We coordinated well , we became good friends.
2. We get inspired from other work and from there ideas
PROBLEM FACED
1. We were getting some network issue so we couldn't discuss it well
2. Time management.
3. We lacked in our objects associations because of we all lose the time track.
LEARNING MANTRA
BRAIN STORMING IN CREATION NOT INACTIVITY.
ACTIVITY - 02 (Scale and Context)
Today's Task was quite different for me
WARM UP
In warm up activity we we were assigned different stationary objects group wise . My group was assigned highlighter .
We had draw 10 different views of this object
This activity helped us to understand our object context and scale
MAIN ACTIVITY
Main activity is about how our objects can be used if its context and scales changes in a large difference.
We were asked to scale up of our object to create a new meaning.
We had to find its different uses.
I was satisfied with my drawing it felt like to give meaning to the object
I have understood the importance of manipulating or recreating the object
STRUGGLE
My struggle was to draw the object in a perspective
I was struggling with my network issue
ACHIEVEMENT
In the first activity i faced problem in time management but i learnt from this and in the next activity i well managed the time
LEARNING MANTRA
THINK , TRY AND RE-CREATE
ACTIVITY - 3 (Stakeholder mapping)
Our day started with mini introduction about the activity
we were shown a picture and then asked to analyse the stake holder involved in the picture
WARM UP
For this activity we were dividing into group and we were given a picture and asked to analyze and made a stake holder map
It helped us to understand direction of the monetary exchange
Picture assignment to us
STAKE HOLDER MAP
WE DIVIDE THIS MAP INTO 4 PARTS
MAIN STAKE HOLDER
OTHER STAKE HOLDER
LOCAL STAKE HOLDER
INTERNATIONAL STAKE HOLDER
After completing this task we had a discussion in our section saw everyone work's and understand various aspects
MAIN ACTIVITY
For main activity we again dividing into a same group but in the this activity we had to work individually
We were asked to choose a person from the image and draw the scene
from our own prospective, what that person is viewing according to the observation of the picture we were given 1 hour 30 minutes to draw the prospective and also we were asked to draw that on an A5 size sheet
we were told that to be perfectly draw and colored it also
Each group member choose a different view point
I draw the view point of that lady who is sitting with her family
MY DRAWING
FINAL -
After completing this activity we started discussion round each one of us did an amazing work .
REFLECTION
This activity gave me a lot of knowledge that how to decide the importance of a particular product and this activity also make me understand the relation between seller and consumer
stake holder mapping make me think about the chain of supply
ACHIEVEMENT
We discuss together and made mind map.
we coo prat together very well
i felt happy with the drawing
STRUGGLES
In our group my 2 of the pears had a network issue that's why we did not discus well during the stakeholder mapping
Time management
LEARNING MANTRA - FOCUS, EXPLORE AND WORK FAST
ACTIVITY 4 (Expressive typography)
INTRODUCTION
Activity 4 was about Expressive Typography / fonts.
We began the day by understanding the meaning of expressive typography.
We were given some example- the word was BALANCING there was a great amount of contradiction when we analysis the various typography's
WARM UP ACTIVITY
This task is to visually express the meaning of the word through creative arrangement of letter forms.
We were given the words STRESSED and CREATIVE
We Experiments with typesetting parameters which we used were orientation, size, position, style etc.
We all decided to create one typography for each of the two letters.
MY WORK
GROUP WORK
MY WORK
GROUP WORK
MAIN ACTIVITY
This activity was about typographic narrative. we had to create a typographic narrative on 6*6 inches sheet. we had to choose a short 2-3 lines from any poem, song, movie, emotion, quote, etc. we had to express the theme of the lines through typography narrative .
I took the theme - pain and sad
WE ARE ALL SO DIFFERENT,
AND YET SO MUCH THE SAME
EVERYONE, IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER
WILL EXPERIENCE A KIND OF PAIN .
In this typography narrative.... i write some lines.
and In this typography narrative i tried to show it in the shape of tear to show some pain
REFLECTION
I was not satisfied with my first narrative but when Pranay sir gave feedback then I made changes . After the changes outcome was pretty satisfying.
ACHIEVEMENT
We finish our work before the break
we coordinated well
LEARNING MANTRA - Meaning of words can be enhanced through writing style
ACTIVITY - 5 (Challenging Assumptions)
This whole activity was based on Assumption and Challenges
This activity was little different with others we had our introduction and warm up activity together for this time our warm up activity was an oral
We discussed about the assumption associated with tea , dosa , khichdi

1. Circular in shapes
2. Hot and Crispy
3. Served with sambar
4. Served in banana leaf
5. Light and healthy food
6. South Indians love Dosa
We also looked at different shapes of Dosa like - conical , bite sized Dosa , Dosa role etc.
We also discussed about khichadi a bit .
MAIN ACTIVITY
After the introduction and warm up activity we moved to the main activity
For the main activity we all were divided into group {we were a group of three members }
We were assignment a food item
The food item assigned to us was NOODLES
We were asked to do few tasks
1. Work flow
2. Assumption
3. Challenging assumption
4. Poster for the new product we create
5. 3d model
FOOD ASSIGNED TO US
WORK FLOW
ASSUMPTION MADE FOR NOODLES
CHALLENGING ASSUMPTIONS
POSTER FOR NEW PRODUCT WE CREATE
3D MODEL
This activity was so interesting In this activity I worked on MIRO TO MAP all the assumptions work flow and challenging assumption and Soumya worked on 3 D model and Sakshi worked on poster
ACHIVEMENT
1 . Submitted on time
2. Everyone appreciate our work
3. Time management {we finish our work on time }
ACTIVITY - 6 (new possibilities)
This activity was very exciting and very different from other activity's
In this activity we were directly jumped to our main activity without warm up . This activity let us think out of the box .
We worked in groups where we together had to present all the new possibilities of products \ object \ environment etc.. that may occur as a result of a fantasy situations
INTERESTING PHRASES
1. If humans had tail
2.If humans had one eye
3.if humans had wings
4.if humans had horns
5. if humans had laid eggs
6. if humans had one hand
7. if humans skin breathable
8. if teeth grow like nail
The topic me and my group received for fantasy situation was if humans had tails
WORK FLOW
As i heard about this topic the first thing came to my mind was have could a tail be on a human body and we automatically thought about our famous god hanuman ji who was a monkey in a form of a human body .
As we started with our work in a group we first thought about the position of the tail we were very confused about the position will it be on the hips , front , shoulders or on the head with this discussion one thing more we discuss that if the human body had 2 or more tails or short , long or in the another shape
When we were working on main activity the idea came from the scene of Ramayana when hanuman ji finding sita and went to the lanka he made his own chair for siting by using his tail then we thought that the tail would be holding body's weight but complication came that what about chairs on the airplanes and cars after a lot of discussion on these thing we all become very frustrated then we decided to come back to the basic idea which will exactly like hanuman ji
So , after a lot of discussion we decided to keep the tail very simple . then we started thinking about that how tail will affect our life .
Some of the point we discuss
FASHION - tattoos , piering , hair color.
CLOTHING- tail sleeves , bottom wear
AGE - child to adult to old
RACE - Asians , Africans and American general
SITTING - the chair structure
SOCIAL DISTANCING - the hygiene factor and pandemic situation
3D MODEL - innovative chair
We all divided our work each on of us working on each topic
I started working with social distancing
as now a days mask being very important thing for our life which is going to be a part of our life
In my drawing i tried to show that the tail and mouth both have mask and have new method of greeting each other instead of shaking hand they could shake their tails together
OTHER GROUP MEMBORS WORK
This was the best activity of think lab i really enjoyed this activity
STRUGGLES :-
We took a lot of time for discussion but in the last we all managed on time
ACHIEVEMENT
1. Good communication
2. we all manage our work well
3. help each other
LEARNING MANTRA
EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
ACTIVITY - 7 (Thinking tools )
Creative thinking
As a designer todays activity was very important
We started with the discussion on creative thinking which we did with the help of thinking tools
We were introduced to the different kind of tools like :-
1. slice and dice
2. cross- breed
3. idea box
1. slice and dice :- slice and dice is breaking down a task and problem into smaller tasks
This is done into 5 attributes :-
Attributes :- A quality or feature regarded as a characteristics or inherent part of some thing
Some ways to describes attributes of product :-
1. Descriptive attributes :- color , shape , texture , sound , taste , smell , structure , volume , weight , material , density etc .
2. Functional attributes :- utility / use and alternate uses
3. Emotional attributes :- comfort , security , safety etc feeling on using
4. Process attributes :- Manufacturing , making , selling promotion etc .
5. Social attributes :- Responsibilities , rituals , symbolism , taboos , impact , on environment etc.
Cross breed - Cross breed is a tool in which we mix two types of hybrids to get new design which includes both the mixed hybrids in its self
Idea box - Idea box tool is a way of combining the aspects / characteristic of a challenge into new idea its self .
(making variation in the original object by adding somethings )
WARM UP
We were dividing into groups and we discussed about the attributes of any stationary item selected by the group member
that stationary was scale
attributes we find
after completing of this task we all discuss about the tools and started working on the main activity
MAIN ACTIVITY
Main activity was all about individual activity
In the main activity we were asked to experiment and explore all the 3 tools
1. slice and dice
For the slice and dice i worked with fevibond and made attributes of that
attributes -
Cross breeding -
For cross breeding i combine pen and leaf for this i create 3 ideas . first one was simple leaf shape but included in pen the tip of the leaf is nib and second one i use the stem with leaf that stem part is the nib this we can use in ink in the thread one i create just a normal ball pen but as a toy on the back side it have a leaf shape and the cap is shape like a leaf but leaf have a hole .
For the idea box i worked with pencils case
Today was very interesting day in the beginning i faced problem to understand about the tools but with the help of my group members and faculty in the last i understand all the tools
Conclusion for the Day
Achievements-
1. I achieve really well designs and got appreciated as well.
2. I understood the concepts of these tools
Struggles
1) i took a lot of time to understand tools.
Learning mantra
endless innovations of any object
Activity 8,( Thinking Tools-2)
For the 8 activity we discussed another thinking tools we discussed two new tools -
1. scamper
2. circle of opportunity
SCAMPER - scamper is an idea manipulation tool to guide us in generating diverse idea
rather then thinking original ideas, this tool provokes us to gather idea from divergent fields , manipulate and fuse them into our requirements.
THE NAME SCAMPER IS THE ACRONYM FOR :-
S- substitue
C- Combine
A- Adapt
M- Modify/Magnify
P-Put to other use
E- Eliminate
R- Rearrange/ Reverse
1) Substitute: A property of a design is changed with something simlar to it.
2) Combine: Bringing together one product with another to form a new design or putting one thing manier times to make something new.
3) Adapt: To change the context of the object we are redesigning or rebringing.
4) Modify/ Magnify: Playing with the features or scale of the object to get a new one.
5) Put to another use: To use that object in some other context by changing its characteristics and original form.
6) Eliminate: Simplifying the product by deleting some feature of it which is not necessary in the design.
7) Reverse/ Rearrange: Changing the order of components in that object or exchanging roles of the components in it.
CIRCLE OF OPPORTUNITY -
Circle of opportunity is another good tool to make unique combinations to innovative products . This tool is very specific about what attributes they change
How to go about the circle?
1. Draw a circle and number it like a clock (number 1 through 12)
2. Select any 12 attributes of the chosen object
3. Roll a Die to get the numbers twice.
4. Consider the attributes, both separately, and combined, to find an association between the two attributes.
5. Search for a link between your association and your challenge.
Main activity
We were divided into a group of 5 for further understanding of the tools and then we started working on them
firstly i worked with scamper
for scamper i selected a fork since it is a very simple object
