Everyone has their own ways of perceiving what is art and what is the inspiration to create art. people also differ in the ways they think what an artist is. for some it might be just a person holding a brush in their hands and painting on the canvas. for some it might be a person who expresses his emotions or moods with the help of a brush but for me artist is not a person who sits in a room and do painting with color and brush. For me everyone is an artist whether it’s a makeup artist, whether it’s a architecture or chef etc. Everyone who is perfect in his/her own profession is a artist for example actors also can be said as artist.

Journey of Europe

Art comes in various forms and medium since generations, but what is the actual importance of art throughout history? Art gives us an insight into the early ages. The evidence of them lies through drawings and painting which tells us the story of the society. It further helps us understand our roots and even learn few things from ancient times and apply them in modern days.

my purpose of research was to analyzing the past events and develops the present concept and conclusion and as well as collect the previous information and I wanted to know about there lifestyle.

I studied about Europe from 1800AD to 1850AD, few of the changes happen in the 19 century, some Western European nations industrialized. This means they changed from an agricultural society to one based on industry. Cities grew as people moved from the countryside to work in factories. At the same time, some Europeans began to feel strong loyalty to their country.

Some of the art movement happen in 19 century are nationalism, realism, impression, cubism, neoclassicism and romanticism.

Neoclassicism is the 18th and 19th century movement that developed in Europe as a reaction to the excesses of Baroque and Rococo. The movement sought to return to the classical beauty and magnificence of the Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. ... Neoclassical works, therefore, are serious, unemotional and heroic. And was based on the principles of simplicity, symmetry, and mathematics, which were seen as virtues of the arts in Ancient Greece and Rome.

Like Neoclassicism, Romanticism was part of a larger artistic movement that included literature and architecture as well as painting, originating in Britain in the mid-18th Century.

Art movement impact the development of art all over the world by influencing society by changing opinions, values and translating experiences across space and time. Art in this sense is communication; it allows people from different cultures and different times to communicate with each other via images, sounds and stories.

Art is often a vehicle for social change. Visual movement is the principle of art used to create the impression of action in a work of art. Movement can apply to a single component in a composition or to the whole composition at once. Visual movement is dependent on the other elements and principles of art. One of the great challenges today is that we often feel untouched by the problems of others and by global issues like climate change, even when we could easily do something to help. We do not feel strongly enough that we are part of a global community, part of a larger we. Giving people access to data most often leaves them feeling overwhelmed and disconnected, not empowered and poised for action. This is where art can make a difference. Art does not show people what to do, yet engaging with a good work of art can connect you to your senses.

Industrial Revolution change Europe politically

The major landmark of political change brought about by the Industrial Revolution was the Reform Bill of 1832. ... Such a campaign arose from fears that the growing population of cities could lead to a violent revolution by desperate workers who had no voice in government, much like the French Revolution of 1789.

Before the 1800s, the Christian church was a major influence upon European art, the commissions of the Church, architectural, painterly and sculptural, providing the major source of work for artists. The history of the Church was very much reflected in the history of art, during this period

19th Century Fashions

In 19th century Fashions evolved, and the Industrial Revolution ushered in big changes in technology and society. Women's clothing became more ornate, waistlines rose, and skirts became huge as the century progressed into Victorian style.

Lifestyles of people influences modern art and architecture and fashion

Throughout history, architecture has stood as a representation of society. By studying the built environment of the past, combined with modern-day research on psychology and the environment, we’re coming to understand the effects of architecture on people in entirely new ways. At its roots, architecture exists to create the physical environment in which people live, but architecture is more than just the built environment, it’s also a part of our culture. For sure you saw sculptures which have two perspectives, lights which are taking all kinds of shapes or water which is creating modern art. Pretty interesting, right Over tme, society has enjoyed various areas of cultural evolution such as painting, graphics, sculpture, architecture, theater, dance, cinema, music, literature but with the development of technology the presentation and the way in which these elements were shown Thus, it has reached the point where art presents beauty in all its forms, and where man, nature and human relationships or man-nature relationships are the pillars of knowledge and inspiration. Fashion also contributes to a person's confidence and self-esteem on a daily basis. As a way to express personality and style, fashion plays a role in the lives of most people since it helps them fit in or stand out from the crowd. Fashion also effects people through the media.

French Revolution shape Europe

The French Revolution had a major impact on Europe and the New World. ... The displacement of these Frenchmen led to a spread of French culture, policies regulating immigration, and a safe haven for Royalists and other counterrevolutionaries to outlast the violence of the French Revolution.

Week 2

The task is all about to understand and analysis that what artist did and why an artist made this at that time what is requirement which force them to make it and what we understand it in terms of elements and principles of design . the task is to understand the visual communication between the art and the observer

The Lady of Shalott is a painting by the English painter John William Waterhouse. It is a representation of the ending of Alfred, Lord Tennyson's 1832 poem of the same name. Waterhouse painted three versions of this character, in 1888

My observation and analyzation

1. When I look at the painting it clearly shows that girl is going somewhere

2. With her face expression I can imagine that she is sad or depressed

3. Her mouth is slightly open and it seems like she is singing a song'

4. Beside it are three candles, often used to symbolize life. Two have blown out. This suggests her life will end soon.

Abstraction :

Making abstract of this painting was bit confusing for me intially that what to do or what no to do.

Thematic communication

1) His efforts in making this figure is remarkable he gives a new sense of vision to revolutionary period of art and design

2) This painting achieves a kind of proper balance, emotions, feelings and the use of colour

3) With this painting artist try to show the depression or the pain of that lady.

4) The mood or atmosphere of the lady of shalott is mysterious.

5) The major themes in “The lady of shalott” is isolation, detachment and the supernatural .

Reflection

The elements and principles are like senses of art and design Artists create fascinating objects and images, such as those found in museums. By visual art, we mean works like paintings, sculptures etc. some terms are totally correlated with painting like- Theme relates to the meaning of a painting, rather than the subject, which is specific and basic. A theme is deeper and broader and conveys something more universal. Mood is the atmosphere in a painting, or the feeling expressed like my selected painting mostly depend of the mood or is atmosphere. Tone refers to the lightness or darkness of colors used, which can help to create a sense of depth or distance in art. Artists use light and dark colors to convey a mood or an emotion. Color can harmonize, or bring elements together and create a pleasing sensation, or it may clash. Remember, the artist is making a choice about color.

My understanding

Meaning making, every person perceive things differently. Everyone make different meanings for different things but their are some factors that that help us to make meaning. Those factors are color , form, shape of the object, background { context} , previous knowledge of something, aesthetics, history, inspiration of something etc.

GROUP UNDERSTANDING

Every person perceive things differently and have different thoughts through which they make different meanings but their are some factors that that help us to make meaning. Those factors are social life, emotions, surroundings, inspirations etc.

~Artists are greatly affected by the world around them, as the events and issues present in society are significant influences of their artmaking. Without their surroundings, artworks would have little inspiration for making art.

~to spread awareness about what is going on in society or surroundings.

With the art that we are surrounded by, whether it's a painting, music or even videos can have a huge impact on our mood and emotions. ... All kinds of art can affect our mood in a positive way, making us feel happier, calmer, or even inspired to do something. Everywhere you go art is evident.

GROUP UNDERSTANDING

My own understanding

Correlating Time and Expression

Time and expression has a correlation , After looking at the creative practices in my assigned area and understanding my peers research i realized that the time ( ideologies , society , culture ) and the expressions ( theme , material , visual language ) are dependent on each other both affected .

My selected area is Europe and this time was mainly for romanticism and the The main purpose of the Romantic movement is revolt against 18th-century rationalism and a resulting variety of new attitudes and activities: a turning in upon the self, a love of nature, the rediscovery of the Middle Ages, the cult of art, a taste for the exotic, a return to religion, a fresh . Romantic art focused on emotions, feelings, and moods of all kinds including spirituality, imagination, mystery, and fervor. The subject matter varied widely including landscapes, religion, revolution, and peaceful beauty.

In Europe the (1800s) people began to feel strong loyalty to their country and they started moving from the countryside to work in factories. 1800s, European nations was industrialized. they changed from an agricultural society to one based on industry and Cities grew due to this Methods of production were totally transformed and large factories with thousands of workers mass produced industrial and consumer goods. Workers in the 19th century were wage laborer's who did not have legal protection or social security. They often had to work and live in appalling conditions.
